Fifth day of the monks protest!!!
What's new?
Daw Suu appearance at protest march
The detained Burmese opposition leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, has met and prayed with Buddhist monks on the fifth day of the street protests they've been leading.
Her appearance gives additional authority to the demonstrations, which the BBC correspondent in the region says are the most serious challenge Burma's military rulers have faced in nearly two decades.
The Monks Alliance has issued a statement calling on all citizens to join the monks in banishing what it called an evil dictatorship and enemy of the people.
They've asked supporters to pray in the doorways of their houses on Sunday.
