On the way to the cinema,as I sat on the tram I felt nervous about what will be in the film. I arrived early at the cinema to meet Marie. We hug and sat together. She asked about how I have been doing, studies etc We talked about this and that. She descriebed some film she had seen. Two films were about Afganistan. After that she also ask about what I am thinking for my future. I told her that I would study here and would work back in Asia. I don't belong here. This is like another world to me. Asia, specifically Burma is the place I feel like home. I wonder why I am born there. Can a person choose which country he or she will be born? Why am I born in Burma?Because I feel it like home and at the same time running from the country is like to get away from a cage, a cage with hunger, poverty, no freedom,no rights.
After sitting in the cafe, we started to see people entering the cinema as the film time is near. I get in and took seat.At the time when all the people have got seats, and when the film is about to start, I look back to the crowd of people. Well, nearly every seat is taken. I feel good that there are many people who comes and see the documentry film about Burma. This way people around the world will get to know more about Burma.
While seeing the film, I felt like I was in Rangoon for a while. I felt like I was in the protest in Rangoon. I hear the crowd praying, shouting, clapping to show that they support the protesters . People run and hide from the guns. The guns, the green military suited people, they are not to protect their own people. They are to shoot their own people. They are terrible, brainless, inhumane.
Free Burma!
